BackElisa to launch new reading service at elisa.fi/kirja
The Elisa Kirja service will offer mp3 versions of all audiobooks published in Finland. In Finland, the demand for audiobooks is still in its infancy compared to the rest of Europe. Elisa's objective is to offer Finns audiobooks in a comfortable and user-friendly manner.
Elisa wants to provide Finns with a new way of getting into literature. Audiobooks can be easily listened to in the mp3 format directly through the Elisa Kirja service on the Internet, and they can also be downloaded to a user’s PC, mp3 player and mobile phones with an mp3 player. As a user of the service your audiobooks will be kept in Elisa Kirja's electronic bookshelf, and you can listen to and download them again for no additional charge.
- We have tried to make it as easy as possible for our customers. We believe that our new reading service will encourage our customers to listen and download audiobooks for the trips to the summer cottage or while sunbathing at the beach, for example. Audiobooks will be used in new kinds of situations, such as while hiking or on a business and vacation trip, says Mikael Rönnblad, Vice President Services business, Elisa.
The Elisa Kirja service's offering contains nearly all audiobooks released by Finnish publishers in the mp3 format so far. New books will be added to the offering every week, and new audiobooks will be immediately available from Elisa Kirja. The offering includes new Finnish titles, classics, familiar books and even long-lost ones. Elisa Kirja will surely have something to offer for everyone and for every moment.
Extensive cooperation with Finnish writers and publishers
Only a small amount of audiobooks have been published in Finland in the last few years. Elisa wishes to contribute to a more extensive audiobook range available for Finns in cooperation with authors and publishers. Elisa Kirja's collaborative partners include WSOY, Otava, Tammi, Gummerus and Like.
-Our aim is for the cooperation to benefit everyone involved, which is in the benefit of the publishers, authors and literature lovers alike. We are excited to see that all the major Finnish publishers have become involved in the cooperation with us. In the future, we will also offer our customers some specialties and our own production, Rönnblad continues.
The Elisa Kirja service is available at www.elisa.fi/kirja.
