BackRationalisation measures for Elisa units
Press release, 4 December 2007
Negotiations concerning integration and rationalisation measures in Elisa's Consumer Customers and Small Enterprise Customers unit have concluded. The goal of the negotiations was to clarify the organisation, to increase the flexibility of operations and to improve competitiveness.
As a result of the layoff negotiations, 52 employees will be dismissed from the unit through the supported dismissal connected to Elisa's change support process. The estimated preliminary need for redundancies was 80 employees. The redundancies are not targeted at employees who are in direct customer service tasks.
As a part of the rationalisation measures, Elisa will start negotiations in the Production unit on 10 December 2007 in compliance with the Act on Co-operation within Undertakings. The central purpose of the negotiations is to restructure the organisation.
Elisa's Production unit employs almost 1,000 employees, of whom approximately 540 are within the scope of the cooperation negotiations. A preliminary estimate on redundancies is approximately from 60 to 80 employees. The justification for the negotiations is the reorganisation of operations and production-related reasons.
